experiments and copyright for coding [closed]

Hi there,

Experimentators candidates asked us Q like this on previous clinic!

when someone is doing an experiment and use tools and provide some own coding as part of the experiment, what does that means in copyright terms?  To clarify more:

1) I guess we can reuse that code in other projects or on a different platform since it's ours

2) our code does not belong to Organicity and others may NOT use it as part of their own experiments / or other projects not related to Organicity

3) other don't have access to our code?

Thanks Matjaž

Hi Matjaz,

In the Experiment agreement, http://organicity.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Experiment-agreement-2017.pdf, which contains the legal text regarding the experiments, the summary (p6) states:

Rights for others to use your experiments results – While the experiment results will be owned by you, the OrganiCity Partners and their affiliates will have a royalty free right i) to use and permit use of your experiment results that are changes and additions to the OrganiCity Facilities for any purpose; and ii) to use and permit use of any other of your experiment results if needed for implementation of the OrganiCity research project.

The full legal text regarding experiment results is found in chapter 5.2.
